Kind words – Bernadette (08-09-2026)

Rivington Ramble - but not to the Pike!!

A 4 mile walk around Rivington and its gardens and Pigeon Tower. NOT going up as far as the Pike, but some short uphill sections through the gardens, which will be taken at an easy pace. Hopefully good views from the lower slopes of Rivington Moor with opportunites for photo stops etc before descending back through the country park for a well earned brew. ( and cake)! No Stiles, approx 600 ft of accumulated ascent. May be slippy in places but the main is on good tracks.

What did you think of the walk?

Excellent

A lovely walk which was exactly as described. It was challenging enough but not too difficult and was very enjoyable. The location was great with some wonderful views. The group were chatty and supportive and the leader, Jane, was very considerate of people’s needs. She was knowledgeable and informative about the area and made me feel very welcome on what was my second walk and my first with her group. Had a great day thank you.

How did the walk help you?

It got me out! I get too comfortable at home and the fresh air and exercise makes me feel so much better. Nice to meet and talk to new people. It takes me out of my comfort zone and I’m motivated to do more.

Would you come on a walk again?

Yes! I would love to go again.
