Ynys Llanddwyn circular walk

Ynys Llanddwyn is a small tidal island off the west coast of Ynys Mon near the settlement of Newborough. The island is rich in legends. The name Llanddwyn means "The church of St. Dwynwen". Dwynwen is the Welsh patron saint of lovers, making her the Welsh equivalent of St. Valentine. Her Saint's day is 25 January and is often celebrated by the Welsh. The island bears the ruined remains of St Dwynwen's Church. Archaeologists examined the ruins of St Dwynwen and discovered traces of even older buildings below the ruins. On Ynys Llanddwyn it is a very low level circular route to see its history, beauty and the excellent in all directions such as Eryri, Lleyn Peninsula and Twr Mawr lighthouse marks the western entrance to the Menai Straits.

Weekly Walking Group Walk 18/25

We will be walking along the beach for a short while before joining the Wales Coastal Path, which runs along the golf course. We will walk to Carreg Y Defaid, where we shall stop to admire the view back to Pwllheli before making our way back. Just under 4 miles, with no elevation.

Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris

This is a circular walk around Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to the importance of its wildlife and geology. The route includes walking through woods and the slate heritage, and featuring some great views across to Yr Wyddfa(Snowdon). We will also visit Dolbadarn Castle.

Beddgelert Cwm Bychan circular walk.

The Cwm Bychan walk is a moderate difficulty circular walk. The route, starts in the village of Beddgelert, and we walk adjacent to the Afon Glaslyn through the dramatic Aberglaslyn Pass. Care is needed on some sections alongside Afon Glaslyn. We then walk up Cwm Bychan valley, which offers views of the surrounding mountains, diverse landscapes and historical features. After taking in the great views of Llyn Dinas we decend to the lake passing the Sygun copper mine before returning to Beddgelert.

Porthdinllaen circular walk

Meet up at the National Trust car park. We will walk uphill to Porthdinllaen past the golf club and along the good quality road to join the Welsh coastal path. As we go round the headland past the Lifeboat Station we join a rough path around the headland, We will stop at the famous Ty Coch pub for refreshments before continuing along the beach and back to the car park.

Llyn Geirionydd and Llyn Crafnant walk

This walk follows the western boundaries of LLyn Crafnant and Llyn Geirionydd, two lakes in the Carneddau mountains.. Llyn Geirionydd is a popular lake and at the northern end of the lake, there is a monument, erected in 1850, to the 6th Century Welsh poet Taliesin Chief Bard of the 6th century LLyn Crafnant is a beautiful lake, with a dramatic rocky ridge at its south-western end, with the prominent peaks of Craig Wen and Crimpiau. LLyn Crafnant and Llyn Geirionydd are separated by Mynydd Deulyn from mwhere there are great views of Moel Siabod and Conway Valley.
