Rydal and Grasmere circuit

A bit further afield today and a longer walk. We will make our way around the shores of Rydal and visit the caves if you would like to, then onto the picturesque village of Grasmere where we can have a toilet and cafe stop around lunch time. We then make our way up to the coffin route and onto Rydal Hall. There is another opportunity to use the bathroom and optional coffee stop here before returning to the cars.

We'll be looking at 'large picture Nav', group management and general leadership issues. This is a long walk with a steady early ascent, not many 'back out' options that finishes on lanes. Members of the public who are confident they can complete the walk are welcome to attend.

Explore beautiful ice-sculpted Cwm Idwal – a bowl-shaped hollow filled with the crystal clear waters of Llyn Idwal, world famous for its rock formations and rare and fragile plant life. If we are lucky, we may see snowy mountains and goats!

A walk around Carnedd Moelyci

The route is 10km (approx 6 miles) of footpaths, some of which are a section of the North Wales Pilgrims Way. We will tour the perimeter of Carnedd Moelyci, which stands at 396m, but will not summit. There are lovely views of the Glyderiau, and Anglesey, and some sections of enchanting forest. Dogs are welcome. It is expected to take 3 hours with an optional stop at the café and farm shop at the end. There are 8 spaces on the walk. It will be chatty and relaxed.
