St Bees and Sandwith Wander

This is a circular walk from St Bees through open fields and open road to the beautiful village of Sandwith. Once off ther road we walk through lonnings with fabulous views of the Ennerdale Fells and woodland to take us to the St Bees Valley. We pass through The famous St Bees School (Students of the past include Rowan Atkinson and Melvyn Bragg) We have the chance to visit St Bees Priory and the Paddock Gardens. We finish off on the Coastal Path with an option to walk along the beach or over the golf course. This is a relatively flat walk, with some good and rough paths which may be muddy depending on weather. The Walk is 11.6 km and will take approx 4 hours including lunch and coffee stop.

Lead by: June H ~ Walk Leader

What did you think of the walk?

Excellent

June is an excellent leader, explained procedure at start in how to keep us all safe and throughout the walk in keeping us all mindful of our safety. A very enjoyable walk.

How did the walk help you?

It helped me engage with others, connect with nature and live in the moment by enabling me to focus on enjoying the moment rather than concerning myself with things I cannot control.

Would you come on a walk again?

Yes! I would love to go again.
