Meall nan Tarmachan and the Tarmachan Ridge

This is a great walk with fantastic views on a good day…so 🤞 for a favourable forecast! The walk is 14km long and climbs 914m of ascent so it is a challenging mountain day but we will take our time to make it manageable. There is a steep approach to Meall nan Tarmachan but we’ll take our time and then there is a lovely ridge walk past Meall Garbh, Beinn nan Eachan and Creag na Cailich with one mini scramble (which has a bypass path for anyone not sure about wanting to tackle it).

What did you think of the walk?

Excellent

Mike is friendly, approachable and an absolute fountain of knowledge! His calm and patient manner instantly put me at ease. Throughout the walk, he taught me lots of brilliant tips and tricks for navigating difficult terrain and bad weather. He expertly guided me through the scrambles, ensuring I felt safe and comfortable at all times. In addition to his technical knowledge, he also shared facts on flora and fauna, and tips on how to take a good photo. I had a fantastic day out despite the mist/fog and would definitely recommend to others.

How did the walk help you?

Mike has given me the confidence to tackle hilly walks with scrambles. He also taught me how to prepare for bad weather, use walking poles and walk through tough terrain. I have come home armed with lots of handy tips and tricks! Feeling very zen after a great day in the highlands.

Would you come on a walk again?

Yes! I would love to go again.
