The Wyre Estuary Walk

Join us for the first of our River Wyre walk series. We will explore Skippool Creek, Stannah, the Wyre Estuary and views across to Wardleys Creek. The pathways are fairly flat but the walk will be nearly 10kms (6.5 miles) so a good level of fitness is needed. We will stop and explore the area regularly and have a lunch break at Stannah. There are a couple of stiles on the route. Please allow at least 4 hours. Upon our return you are welcome to join us for refreshments in the Thornton Lodge Pub. Free carparking is available along Skippool Road or in the pub carpark if there are spaces. This will be a relaxed walk at a nice steady pace.

Lead by: Angela B. ~ Walk Leader

What did you think of the walk?

Excellent

It was Angela’s, who led the group, first walk as leader. A lovely walk, very chilled with interesting facts about the area provided by Dave, Angela’s husband. Lovely group of people. Angela was very knowledgeable about the area. I am local and wasn’t aware of some of the route. Angela was very easy to talk too and put everyone at ease.

How did the walk help you?

A very relaxing walk with good company. Stopped at a cafe for a break. I regularly hike with 2 other groups and this was the most relaxing by a country mile.

Would you come on a walk again?

Yes! I would love to go again.
