Ladies only: wander around Whalley Abbey and Whalley Nab
This undulating walk will take us past the golf course and over to Read Hall, which was once the home of Roger Nowell who had dealings with the trials of the Pendle Witches in 1612. We then walk down to the River Calder (stopping at the coffee shop in the garden centre if you wish) before heading over to Whalley Nab then descending into the lovely town of Whalley. We will have a wander around the peaceful grounds of the former Cistercian Abbey before returning to the cars.
What did you think of the walk?
The walk today was wonderful, it was a clear blue sky with a bit of snow in the ground. It looked really cold initially, but once walking I warmed up. I had to take my hat and gloves off as I was too warm ☺️
How did the walk help you?
