Singing Ringing Tree via Clowbridge Reservoir
A winter walk to one of the 4 panopticons built in East Lancashire in 2006. Just shy of 7 miles & 260m in height, starting from Clowbridge Reservoir, we will ascend up through the Memorial gardens and Dunnockshaw Community Woodland. We’ll cross Crown Point Road to get to the Singing Ringing Tree (which does whistle if it’s windy enough) before returning along the Pennine Bridleway and Rossendale Way. Good tracks and paths and there are two stiles. It will be muddy in places if it’s been raining so it’s good idea to wear walking boots. Bring a butty and a warm drink and we will take a nice leisurely pace taking in the views and spotting any wildlife to be seen as we go. If we get lucky, we may see Kestrels, Owls & Cormorants.
What did you think of the walk?
Lucy was very organised and led the walk well. Including all the group in the conversations and checking on us all regularly.
How did the walk help you?
Nice to meet new people, catch up with friends. Good to get out after the Christmas holidays.
Would you come on a walk again?
Yes! I would love to go again.
