Kind words – Andrew (29-09-2025)

A Tockholes Toddle, inc Hollinshead Hall

A 5 mile easy paced walk around Tockholes, Hollinshead Hall ruins, historic Stepback Clough and Earnsdale Reservoir. NOT going to the tower. Taking good paths we will descend through Roddlesworth woods before a gentle uphill brings us to the ruins of Hollinshead Hall and a well earned brew and snack stop. Leaving the woods behind we climb gently onto the lower slopes of Darwen Moors, before looping round to Stepback Clough and descending again to Earnsdale Res. ( photo). Another short climb (phew!) known as Donkey Brew brings up back into Tockholes, where field and farm tracks bring us back to the start part and coffee and cake. It will be muddy!!
