We're looking for two new Trustees to join the Wellness Walks Board
Wellness Walks began with a simple belief: that time in nature, shared with good people, can help us feel better.
Since then, we’ve grown into a registered charity, empowering people to support their chosen communities across Northern England, Scotland and Wales. And we’re still growing. We’re serious when we say in our mission statement “as many people as possible in as many places as possible”.
Provably competent volunteers are at the heart of our delivery – we train, equip, qualify and support them so they can do the thing they volunteered to do – help others.
for our beneficiaries Walk & Talk sessions are totally free. They support mental, physical and social health by helping people access nature safely, with support, and without barriers.
At their best, they’re beautifully simple:
A walk.
A conversation.
A bit of fresh air.
A safe place to belong.
A first step towards feeling better.
But behind that simplicity is a serious charity — with strong governance, committed volunteers, a growing evidence base, and a model that can reach many more people.
That’s where you come in.
We’re looking for two Trustees to help us take the next step. Ideally, between you, you’ll bring experience in some of the following:
🔹 Fundraising & income generation
🔹 Partnerships & CSR
🔹 Social Prescribing
🔹 Local government / public health
🔹 DEI & inclusive growth
🔹 Strategic, sustainable scaling
You don’t need to tick every box — we’re looking to build a Board that’s stronger together than any one person could be alone.
This isn’t a ceremonial role. We want Trustees who’ll contribute, challenge, support and help shape our future with care, honesty and purpose.
You don’t need to be an outdoor professional. But if you understand the power of time in nature, the importance of community, and the quiet magic that happens when the two meet — we’d love to hear from you.
Because people don’t always find support through formal services or neat geographical boundaries. Sometimes, we’re held and helped back towards ourselves by the communities we choose.
That’s what Wellness Walks makes possible. Help us make it possible for more people to take the first steps towards feeling better.
So what's next
