Goatfell: The top of Arran

Join Vicky to climb Goatfell, the highest mountain on Arran rising majestically above Brodick Bay. The 10.5km/6.5 mile route is the most popular ascent, but is not without its challenges! The path climbs from the coast through woodland and open heather moorland, with views back over Brodick and Holy Island growing with every step. The final push to the summit weaves steeply up through granite boulders — rough, relentless, but absolutely worth it. On a clear day the panorama stretches across the Firth of Clyde to Ireland. This is a mountain that asks something of you – perfect for a weekend of community, courage, and showing up as yourself. There will be plenty of opportunities to pause along the way and support to talk, should you wish. Come prepared with sturdy boots and plenty of food, take your time and let Arran do the rest.

What did you think of the walk?

Excellent

Really enjoyed the hike and the company. Our walk leader Vicky was super helpful, enthusiastic, passionate and knowledgeable and definitely brought the experience together

How did the walk help you?

Helped me to build my confidence in outdoor spaces and helped to build a rapport with those we hiked alongside. It could very well be the spark I needed to light a passion for the outdoors.

Would you come on a walk again?

Yes! I would love to go again.
