An ascent of Walla Crag via Ashness Bridge from Keswick
This walk, lasting approximately 5 hours and covering 10kilometres distance, will leave Keswick and follow the shores of Derwent Water before leaving the lake and commencing a gradual climb across the fell side to reach Ashness Bridge which is a much photographed viewpoint and a good spot for lunch. Next we will tackle open fell paths that gradually ascend to the summit of Walla Crag with stunning views of the lake, the Borrowdale valley and Keswick. From the top it is a steady descent back into Keswick.
What did you think of the walk?
Walla crag via Ashness bridge assent. Absolutely brilliant trail, stunning scenery, brilliant and very knowledgeable guide (Ric). We would 100% recommend this walk for anyone looking to be a little more adventurous and move on from lowland only walks. Overall very enjoyable and look forward to joining Ric again on our next visit to Cumbria.
