Darwen Tower - the easy way. 4.5 miles
Darwen Tower – the rocket that never takes off! This is ( in my option) the easiest route to the tower. Leaving the cafe we take gently rising footpaths through fields and historic sites to gain height on the moors. Total ascent 750ft. Taking a leisurely stroll along the ridge to the tower we can see the lake district, the peak district and on a clear day The Isle of Man. Having time to climb the tower ( bring torch) and have snacks, we have a short steep descent before heading back on good farm tracks. 4.5 miles
What did you think of the walk?
Everything about the walk was great, Jane was so warm and inviting & full of amazing local knowledge. The other people walking were all very kind and friendly too. Special credit to Eric… such a cute floof 🐕🦺. The pace was perfect, Jane was very in tune with people’s needs 🥰
How did the walk help you?
It was just a lovely day to get out into the fresh air with some fab people. A really calm & relaxed experience.
