This is a Wellness Walks Big Day out event with minibus transport available to and from Millom. Another classic day out – with the wonderful benefit that due to the support of the National Trust we’re also able to make this event possible for anyone with limited mobility. We’ll head the the famously beautiful Tarn Hows and do a slow loop of the tarns with lots of stops.

Walk Leader - Kelvyn James
Kelvyn James is a working International Mountain Leader who has guided clients all over the world – here in the UK he’s a Provider and Course Director for Mountain Training courses and specialises in mental health support sessions. He’s also an Outdoor First Aid, First Aid for Mental Health & Safeguarding Instructor as well as having qualifications in psychology & counselling.
Kelvyn is also the founder of Wellness Walks and is passionate about the benefits of giving people the opportunity to get out into nature. He has lived experience of mental health issues and specifically cites time spent in the outdoors and, crucially, time spent with other people, as fundamental to his own journey to thriving.
Kelvyn’s favourite walk in the UK is a loop of the fabulous Grisedale Valley – on a good day this can be via the tops and its famous Striding Edge – but he’s just as happy to wander around the valley with his dog, the Wellness Walks mascot Missy Mischief.
His top tip is – we should all be more dog – learn to make every day an adventure.
