Scout Scar Loop

A delightful walk with stunning views of the Lyth Valley and Lakeland fells, this walk will take your breath away with its magnificent scenery. Starting outside the National Trust cafe at Sizergh Castle, we will walk through some of Sizergh’s beautiful estate before meandering up onto Scout Scar itself and towards the infamous ‘Mushroom’ before returning via the old Kendal Race Course at the foot of the Scar. The walk will take approximately 4 hours in total which will accommodate short rest breaks along the way. There is the option to visit the cafe at the end should attendees wish however there are ample benches outside to have a packed lunch too. Well behaved dogs are allowed, however they will need to be on a lead through the castles estate and where livestock are present.
