A stroll through woodland, via reservoirs, visiting a ruin and returning via Darwen Moors. Leaving Roddlesworth we decend into woodland and taking good paths we skirt 2 reservoirs, hopefully plenty of wildlife spotting. Keeping to farm and woodland tracks a steady climb – taken at an easy pace – brings us to Hollinshead Hall , a historic ruin and Well House. We then cross onto the lower slopes of Darwen Moors and steadily (that word again) climb to 1100 ft gaining wonderful views in 360 degrees. A steady decent brings us back to the start point, coffee and cake!

Walk Leader - Jane

Jane is a qualified Lowland Leader & she’s also qualified in First Aid for Mental Health & Outdoor First Aid – so you know she’ll keep you safe and make your Wellness Walk a safe and supportive space.

Jane tells us that her favourite walk is one we know well – around Tockholes and Roddlesworth reservoirs – a beautiful area that Wellness Walks visits often!

Jane’s favourite place anywhere is to wander around the fabulous limestone scenery of Crummackdale – a great choice.

If you’re going to go on one of Jane’s walks then don’t forget your sense of humour – there’ll be lots and lots of laughs.
