This is a gentle walk around the reservoir. Meeting at the weir we’ll walk across the dam following a light woodland gravel path. There is around 30 downward steps along the route and a small section may be slightly muddy depending on previous weather. It returns along the attractive shoreline path. There’s lots of beautiful spots to stop and enjoy.

The number 61 bus stops at the Shady Oak around 10mins walk from the weir for anyone coming on public transport.

Walk Leader - Debbie

Debbie is a qualified Lowland Leader & she’s also qualified in First Aid for Mental Health & Outdoor First Aid – so you know she’ll keep you safe and make your Wellness Walk a safe and supportive space.

Debbie has a calm confident approaches to leading walks and a wealth of fascinating stories about the natural world. She leads walks around Buxton and the wider Peak District. Debbie tells us her favourite walk anywhere is Mam Tor through Winnats Pass with it’s spectacular scenery but, like all of our walk Leaders, Debbie says its the people she spends time with that really make a walk in the wonder of nature special.

Facilities

There are no toilets on this walk, but we can finish at the Shady Oak for a cuppa which is 2 mins drive/10 mins walk.
