An Ennerdale Wander

We’ll be meeting at the Bleach Green Car Park at Ennerdale (map further down) and Walking out on well made forestry tracks along the lake side.

The plan will be to the end of the Lake and back – probably stopping for lunch along the way. The walk will be on well made tracks with only a little bit of ascent and descent.

This walk is to support WI groups in Mid Copeland.

Please note this is an approximately 30 minute drive from Santon Bridge – we recommend car sharing where possible.

Kit List

Sturdy walking shoes/boots – we’ll occasionally be on rough ground
Waterproofs

Cold Weather Not Expected!

At this time of the year in the UK the weather can be very mixed.
Participants will need to have warm clothing (including a spare top) as whilst we will be moving we may well also be stood around looking at things and will get colder than we trhink.

Wet Weather

Whatever the forecast participants must have waterproof jackets and trousers – BUT don’t worry if you don’t own any – we can lend you both so long as you let us know when you book on to the event.

Facilities on Walk

There is an optional cafe at Ennerdale Bridge.
There are no toilets at the start & finish of this walk

Walk details

The walk is is on really well made and marked trails. There’s minimal ascent and descent.
We can go as far as the group members like, but probably around 6 miles
3-4hrs with stops
