Clapham beck and waterfall circular
This is a fantastic 6km walk starting and ending in Clapham. We head up out of Clapham and ascend 150m of elevation gradually; taking in the beautiful scenery of the Yorkshire Dales. We then start our descent with a short and moderately steep section down to Clapham Beck, where we will follow the river back down into Clapham. Along the way, we will see some local history and a fantastic waterfall, before the river opens up allowing us to take in the wonderful views across the Lake. There is a pub in Clapham where we could get some amazing food after the walk if people want to . However, as this is at the end of the walk, I would recommend bringing a bite to eat during the walk – there’s even a Victorian folly to provide us with some shelter whilst we have a snack break!

Walk Leader - Lauren H.
Lauren is a qualified Lowland Leader & she’s also qualified in First Aid for Mental Health & Outdoor First Aid – so you know she’ll keep you safe and make your Wellness Walk a safe and supportive space.
Lauren can often be found in the Yorkshire Dales and out and about in Cumbria & Lancashire – so she’s given us two favourite local walks – walking in the glorious Garsdale Valley AND a Wellness Walks classic – the Fairy Steps near Silverdale.
Lauren’s favourite walk anywhere -is a spectacular one – the Grand Balcon-Sud in Chamonix with it’s stunning views of the top of Europe.

Informed Consent - we want you to know what risk is involved
While we take every precaution to ensure your safety on our walks (physically, psychologically and emotionally), all outdoor activities involve an inherent and unavoidable risk of an accident occurring that could lead to personal injury. All of our Walk Leaders are qualified in First Aid and carry emergency equipment to deal with emergencies. Walk Leaders are also trained to dynamically alter the route or plan for the day based on numerous potential factors - any decision to do so is fully authorised and expected by Wellness Walks. All participants should take an active role in minimising risks - so if you have a concern please speak up, if you feel unwell or unable to continue tell the leader.
Lowland Walks
These walks will follow paths, trails and lanes that are clearly visible on both the ground and the map (with the exception of very minor alterations). The risk on these walks is low - but traffic, waterways and other hazards may still be encountered.
Participants are required to read the walk description and kit list and may not be allowed to take part on the walk if they do not have suitable clothing or footwear.
Sorry, This walk is experiencing technical difficulties! Please check back later and if the problem persists contact our team.
