An out & back wander with river & mountain views

This minibus trip will take us to Great Langdale & then we’ll walk along the valley to Elterwater with an optional cafe stop.

Those who want will then walk back with (hopefully) fabulous views of the Langdale Pikes and two of the walks we will be doing over the summer….

does this walk have restrictions?

This walk is open to anyone who is resident in South Copeland.

Due to a limited number of seats on the minibus all attendees MUST book a place online.

  • Sturdy walking shoes/boots – we’ll occasionally be on rough ground
  • Waterproofs
  • Warm clothes – bring a spare jumper!

  • Snacks & drink
  • Camera/phone -its all about the pics!

Cold Weather Expected!

At this time of the year in the UK the weather can be very mixed.
Participants will need to have warm clothing (including a spare top) as whilst we will be moving we may well also be stood around looking at things and will get colder than we trhink.

Wet Weather

Whatever the forecast participants must have waterproof jackets and trousers – BUT don’t worry if you don’t own any – we can lend you both so long as you let us know when you book on to the event.

Facilities on Walk

  • Approx 60mins travel time each way
  • There are toilets at the start & the cafe
  • we will be starting from next to the Stickle Barn Tavern & there are toilets at the cafe & pub in Elterwater though a charge may apply.

Walk details

  •  For limited mobility individuals (must be able to get on & off minibus) they could visit the cafe/pub, but the walk is moderately difficult.
  • We expect to walk for 3+hrs (ish) but have options between bridleway & rough fell paths
  • There is approximately 200m of ascent but nothing too steep or serious

Book a Space

Whilst all of our walks are totally free to participants you will be asked to complete our Wellbeing Questionnaire – this allows us to show our funding partners just how beneficial what we do is for people, Thanks!
