Malham Cove, Janet's Foss, Goredale Scar, Weets Top and Helwith circular.
This is a challenging, multi-terrain hike but you are rewarded by stunning scenery. We will walk through the village to the base of the Cove, then along the field to the YHA. From here we will walk roadside to Janet’s Foss to see the beauty of the waterfall. We will then take the short walk into the stunningly beautiful Goredale Scar to see the vast gorge and waterfall. A steep, but slow ascent up to Weets Top to the trig point before walking along the moor and into Helwith. From here we follow the Pennine Way back into Malham where there will be the opportunity to grab a coffee before heading home.

Walk Leader - Angela
Angela is a qualified Lowland Leader & she’s also qualified in First Aid for Mental Health & Outdoor First Aid – so you know she’ll keep you safe and make your Wellness Walk a safe and supportive space.
Angela is Yorkshire born & bred but moved away to start a career & family. Now older, fitter & wiser she’s moved back to God’s Own Country and is enjoying the beautiful landscape. Angela took up hiking in 2020 and discovered a passion for it – she loves the freedom and calmness that nature provides.
Angela’s favourite place is Malham Cove – it’s such a magical place. The Yorkshire Dales offer such diversity and adventure that she’s sure she’ll never get bored of the stunning scenery – and she’s keen to introduce people to, and share with them, such a special place.

Informed Consent - we want you to know what risk is involved
While we take every precaution to ensure your safety on our walks (physically, psychologically and emotionally), all outdoor activities involve an inherent and unavoidable risk of an accident occurring that could lead to personal injury. All of our Walk Leaders are qualified in First Aid and carry emergency equipment to deal with emergencies. Walk Leaders are also trained to dynamically alter the route or plan for the day based on numerous potential factors - any decision to do so is fully authorised and expected by Wellness Walks. All participants should take an active role in minimising risks - so if you have a concern please speak up, if you feel unwell or unable to continue tell the leader.
Lowland Walks
These walks will follow paths, trails and lanes that are clearly visible on both the ground and the map (with the exception of very minor alterations). The risk on these walks is low - but traffic, waterways and other hazards may still be encountered.
Participants are required to read the walk description and kit list and may not be allowed to take part on the walk if they do not have suitable clothing or footwear.
Sorry, This walk is experiencing technical difficulties! Please check back later and if the problem persists contact our team.
