We will be catching the train from Pwllheli to Porthmadog, where we will start our walk. The first walk will take us away from Pothmadog towards Tremadog passing through the woods at Bodawen. We will then follow the footpath along `Y Cyt` back to Porthmadog, going around Llyn Bach, to reach the end of the first walk. Where we will stop for coffee and cake. After refreshments we will follow the coastal path to Borth Y Gest, before returning to the train station for our journey home. We expect to catch the 1456 train back to Pwllheli. Walk Leader - Dafydd RJ.
Dafydd is a qualified Lowland Leader & he’s also qualified in First Aid for Mental Health & Outdoor First Aid – so you know he’ll keep you safe and make your Wellness Walk a supportive space to get out into nature and engage with other folks.
Dafydd tells us his favourite local walk has to be a circular walk around his home town of Pwllheli. It has everything you could possibly want in a walk, great views, lots of wildlife, and all within the town boundaries. All on easy accessible footpaths, suitable for all abilities.
His favourite walk ever has to be a winter/night time ascent of Yr Wyddfa , to see the sunrise. When he was fortunate enough to see a cloud inversion, where all he could see was the highest peaks rising up over a blanket of clouds.
Dafydd’s top tip is a simple but important one – take your time and enjoy i- t’s not a race.
Oh – & always bring your camera!

Informed Consent - we want you to know what risk is involved
While we take every precaution to ensure your safety on our walks (physically, psychologically and emotionally), all outdoor activities involve an inherent and unavoidable risk of an accident occurring that could lead to personal injury. All of our Walk Leaders are qualified in First Aid and carry emergency equipment to deal with emergencies. Walk Leaders are also trained to dynamically alter the route or plan for the day based on numerous potential factors - any decision to do so is fully authorised and expected by Wellness Walks. All participants should take an active role in minimising risks - so if you have a concern please speak up, if you feel unwell or unable to continue tell the leader.
Lowland Walks
These walks will follow paths, trails and lanes that are clearly visible on both the ground and the map (with the exception of very moor alterations). The risk on these walks is low - but traffic, waterways and other hazards may still be encountered.
Participants are required to read the walk description and kit list and may not be allowed to take part on the walk if they do not have suitable clothing or footwear.
Sorry, This walk is experiencing technical difficulties! Please check back later and if the problem persists contact our team.
