It's one week to GMT.. so it has to be a Grassington Meander - with Tea!
We start by walking up through the town – with optional ice cream stoppage opportunity if the sun is shining or even if it isn’t! We continue on up before taking a turn off the road to follow a track across Grassington moor. That’s the end of the up .. its now a lovely meandering track until we meet Hebden Beck and follow this down to Hebden. There is the option to stop at the wonderful Old School Tea Room for a cuppa before heading down towards the Autumn colours alongside the river Wharfe. We follow this back to Grassington. Can’t promise it will look exactly like this picture but you never know!

There is a fairly steep climb on the road out of Grassington – but there is a bench to rest at and catch our breath! Once this is done the terrain is gently flat/downhill on a mixture of stony tracks/grassy paths and a short quiet road section. Distance is 7 miles.
mixed weather
You never know in October… so make sure you bring waterproofs AND an extra warm layer!
Walk Leader - Tina B.
Tina is a qualified Lowland Leader & she’s also qualified in First Aid for Mental Health & Outdoor First Aid – so you know she’ll keep you safe and make your Wellness Walk a safe and supportive space.
Tina moved to Yorkshire in 2001 and loves living so close to both the Dales and the Lake District. You’ll often find her happily running or swimming out in the hills – whatever the weather. Tina tells us that being in the outdoors is essential to her well being and sanity.
Tina’s favourite walks are ones that include hills, a swim spot and hopefully a tea and cake shop! Tina say’s the best place she’s been lucky enough to walk was Montenegro – it’s definitely on her wish list to return.
Tina’s top tip is to get outside whatever the weather and let nature work it’s magic – you’ll be glad you did.

Informed Consent - we want you to know what risk is involved
While we take every precaution to ensure your safety on our walks (physically, psychologically and emotionally), all outdoor activities involve an inherent and unavoidable risk of an accident occurring that could lead to personal injury. All of our Walk Leaders are qualified in First Aid and carry emergency equipment to deal with emergencies. Walk Leaders are also trained to dynamically alter the route or plan for the day based on numerous potential factors - any decision to do so is fully authorised and expected by Wellness Walks. All participants should take an active role in minimising risks - so if you have a concern please speak up, if you feel unwell or unable to continue tell the leader.
Lowland Walks
These walks will follow paths, trails and lanes that are clearly visible on both the ground and the map (with the exception of very minor alterations). The risk on these walks  is low - but traffic, waterways and other hazards may still be encountered.
Participants are required to read the walk description and kit list and may not be allowed to take part on the walk if they do not have suitable clothing or footwear.
Sharing is caring!
