Coastal Path Llanbedr including Shell Island

A lovely walk following the coastal path which goes through Shell Island Campsite and all of the causeway .

We will start from the car park and follow the coastal path, joining the road for a section where we will pass the airfield.

Following the footpath, we’ll brush passed the reeds, through the campsite, along the causeway, and then back to the car park.
We might will spot some birds and if we are lucky some swans.

Depending on the group and weather, there is an opportunity to extend the walk towards Pensarn or Llandanwg.

Please note there are no toilets in the car park or throughout this walk.

Please bring a drink with you.

Tracey D. ~ Walk Leader

Tracey is a qualified Lowland Leader & she’s also qualified in First Aid for Mental Health & Outdoor First Aid – so you know she’ll keep you safe and make your Wellness Walk a safe and supportive space.

Tracey’s favourite local walk is to head over the tops above Harlech towards Llanfair and then drop down to the beach – you get a good mix of terrain and the views are fantastic. Tracey’s favourite walk anywhere so far is the Welsh Coastal Path – she is ticking of sections bit by bit and has loved every single one.

Tracey’s top tip is to remember that  walking is still one of the best ways to support physical and mental health. Being close to nature can improve your mood and help you sleep. Even just a short walk has benefits. So get out and go for a walk, stop and think, what can I hear, see smell, touch or taste?

Informed Consent - we want you to know what risk is involved

While we take every precaution to ensure your safety on our walks (physically, psychologically and emotionally), all outdoor activities involve an inherent and unavoidable risk of an accident occurring that could lead to personal injury. All of our Walk Leaders are qualified in First Aid and carry emergency equipment to deal with emergencies. Walk Leaders are also trained to dynamically alter the route or plan for the day based on numerous potential factors - any decision to do so is fully authorised and expected by Wellness Walks. All participants should take an active role in minimising risks - so if you have a concern please speak up, if you feel unwell or unable to continue tell the leader.

  • Lowland Walks

These walks will follow paths, trails and lanes that are clearly visible on both the ground and the map (with the exception of very minor alterations). The risk on these walks  is low - but traffic, waterways and other hazards may still be encountered.

Participants are required to read the walk description and kit list and may not be allowed to take part on the walk if they do not have suitable clothing or footwear.
